Hi everybody! I’m starting this new blog in an effort to share some of the stuff I’ve been working on. I tend to work in a void and keep most of my things under wraps, but NO MORE. If 2012 is in fact our last year on Earth, it might be a good time to start being a little more public with my goings-on. So…here are the very preliminary character sketches for issue #3 of Dark Horse’s House of the Night comic series (based on the very popular House of the Night novels by P.C. and Kristin Cast http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Night). I love doing comics, but my schedule usually doesn’t allow for that kind of time commitment. Thanks so much to Sierra Hahn and Jim Gibbons at Dark Horse for giving me the opportunity to do this and being very patient with me! Writer Kent Dalian and artist Jo’lle Jones are the series regulars. My bit is an 11 page back-up story in issue #3 which tells a little ancient Greek adventure story shedding light on some vampire history. Pretty sweet!
Odysseus and Circe are the main characters in this short story. It also features a cavalcade of mythological monsters and sexy ladies and stuff. These sketches were some early efforts at figuring out how to make some classic characters and monsters my own (as well as story appropriate).
