Took a little break from Doom Cannon to do something to bring mean women and mean architecture together, two excellent things. Look up the Best Products buildings sometime, they’re my number one choice for threatening-looking retail stores.
Comics-wise, Daniel and I should hopefully have a sweet little preview of Doom Cannon stuff to post soon; I’d keep your eyes waaay peeled for that, just peel ‘em right into nothing because you’ll never want to blink again, Who-style.

Hey, are you guys aware of Heather Danforth?! You should be. Her talents are vast and her art brain is cucumber cool. The above piece is a stellar example of her solo work! She also happens to be my studio assistant and art partner on Doom Cannon, which is a comic about giant robots and teen sadness that I mentioned in passing many months ago. It’s a fat book and art takes time, but soon there will be sneaky peeks! In the meantime, be stoked about Heather cause shes an ace.

"Technotwonic" is the 4th show of illustration work that I’ve curated and juried this year with the help of an extremely talented and motivated group of MICA seniors! The theme for this show was: bright, colorful, and cute (to bookend last semester’s b&w Seance show). We had an opening for Technotwonic this past Friday, and it was a terrific success and a really fun time! I love coming up with these things and putting together collections of work that really transform our departmental gallery space into a unique experience. Thanks to everyone who contributed work, and special thanks to the seniors who helped put it all together and make it extra cool.

I’ve assigned a project for my character design class at MICA where students are divided into two “gangs”, given a character name and a randomly selected weapon (alla Battle Royale), and design a character they can use for weekly “brawls” (which are done using a very crude dice rolling damage vs. health based deal). This week’s sample battle was between myself, using “Hell Hand" (pictured above in black, white, and red), and my very talented assistant Bart Browne's character, Nero (in black and grey).

It was pretty close, but Hell Hand won by a hair (probably due to all of the casual stabs)!

You guys should check out Bart’s work! He’s a really hard working dude who’s bound for great things!

Here are photos from the Séance Show at the Julian Allen Gallery at MICA (3rd floor Fox). Our professor Daniel Krall created and curated the show. It will be up for about another week so if you’re in the area come visit, you won’t be disappointed!~

I’m so happy with how this turned out. If anyone’s in the area come and check out the work while it’s still up!

We had a really terrific turn out for the Seance opening on Friday! Thanks to everyone who helped jury the work, hang the show, arrange the cookie platters, and of course to all of the excellent contributors! We’ll be doing more things like this for sure!

This is a piece entitled: The First of Ten Serpents that I did for a show of student and faculty work I’m putting on in the Julian Allen Gallery at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
The show is called: Seance Mystery, Superstition, and the Occult, and it’ll be up for the next two weeks at least. Come by and check it out if you’re in the area (3rd floor, Fox building)!
You can see this and other great prints and originals from a bunch of very talented illustrators!
For example, here is a piece by the amazing Kali Ciesemier
And another by the incomprehensible Sam Bosma
Come on in and get creeped out! I’ll post some photos from this soon!
Speaking of prints, you can purchase the image above and many other fine selections from my INPRNT gallery!
Halloween spook-a-roo!

HELLO EVERYONE! i mentioned that gallery show my friends Matt and Leonard and I are working on the other day, so here’s some info and us looking for your help!!!

'Small Creatures Such As We' is a show featuring 15 very brilliant MICA illustrators who have cumulatively produced over 700 3x3 inch pieces of work. The show is up this November in the Meyerhoff Piano Gallery, but we need help pulling together costs for massive amounts of printing and installation.
We’ve put together an INDIEGOGO that has more information and lots of *~COOL REWARDS~* like lil’ prints and books and it’s going to be a lot of fun. So please check it out, donate if you can, or spread the word! We need lots of support; ‘Small Creatures’ has always been about teamwork !

Not all the work being displayed is available online, but if you’d like to see some of the great work that is you can check out our tumblr, or you can peruse the tag, or visit the links to each artists’ portfolio on the indiegogo!
(I’ll be uploading my pieces throughout the month, too!)

we really love this show, so please take a look !! thank you so much everyone!

A lot of these artists are students and friends of mine! Please take a look at the terrific stuff they’re doing! Champions of the universe!
